Helicopter airlift for National Trust Wales

Every year, over half a million people walk up Southern Britain’s highest peak, Pen y Fan, in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.

To help the National Trust Brecon Beacons and Monmouthshire rangers maintain this popular footpath, our helicopter airlifted 180 tonnes of stone scalpings up the mountain this month, the equivalent weight of 20 elephants.

Well maintained footpaths like this help minimise the impact of erosion on the mountain, while protecting the fragile upland habitats.

Car park charges at Pont ar Daf funds this important work to keep these well-loved walking routes safe and accessible for the thousands of visitors who explore and enjoy the area each year.

The team at Airbourne Solutions are always pleased to be part of such important work.
